Avoid oil pump bolt hole thread damage and keep your pump securely mounted

Your Pontiac V8's oil pump is retained by two bolts, which are basically beefy Grade 8 bolts. Unfortunately, torquing those bolts into the block can potentially damage the threads in the block, due to torquing the factory style bolts numerous times over the life of a 50 plus year old block. This can result in pulling oil pump bolt threads out of the block or stressing the threads resulting in inadequate torquing. To avoid that problem, we came up with a foolproof solution: our high-strength Oil Pump Stud Kit. Anyone who has built a race engine knows that studs are the fastener of choice for main caps and cylinder heads, because of how they're designed to handle torque better. Unlike bolts, studs get installed basically finger-tight into cleaned, threaded, bolt holes, then as you torque a nut onto the stud's exposed end, the stud stretches at its "shoulder" or "shank" section between the stud's threaded ends. Our oil pump studs are made from high-grade, high-strength steel with cold-rolled threads (3/8-16 for the block, 3/8-24 for the nuts), and come with hardened washers and matching 3/8-24 flange nuts. Don't risk damaging your Pontiac's oil pump bolt hole threads. Install Nitemare's Oil Pump Stud Kit to keep your oil pump securely mounted while protecting your block.
