Enter your drag track data and click either of the grey buttons to calculate your approximate peak horse power. Calculations based on trap speed are generally more accurate in a traction limited vehicle. In this case, to be most accurate the throttle must be wide open for essentially all of the run (launch excluded) and the vehicle maintained as close to the power peak of the engine by appropriately shifting. In the case of a vehicle whose performance isn't traction limited i.e. a vehicle with drag race type suspension, the horsepower calculations will be most accurate if the gearing is optimized for the 1/4 mile. Remember to use the combined weight of vehicle and driver.
